course overview

Deciding on a yoga teacher training is a big commitment - and it is important that you choose a program that feels like a good fit. Below is a little bit more information about us. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you have about our offerings!

Curriculum

Our 200-hour yoga teacher training curriculum is broken up into two parts — an online module and an in-person module. Our online component includes lecture-style content that you’ll want to revisit again and again after you start teaching, and you’ll have lifetime access to this material to return to. This module is all about foundations: learning about the practices, anatomy, yoga history basics + practice hours at your own pace inside the Kula.

Our in-person module is all about practice, teaching methodology and practice teaching. We’ll deep-dive into cueing, creating sequences, building classes, practice teaching to each other, hands-on anatomy labs mapping out the human body + so much more.

Our curriculum is Yoga Alliance certified.

style

Our trainings are in the style of Vinyasa Yoga, which will remain our primary focus throughout training. Our Vinyasa practices are flowy, creatively sequenced, playful + strong. We incorporate options to explore arm balances and inversions (though they're always optional).

While our trainings primarily focus on Vinyasa Flow, we also incorporate bits of mobility, slow-flow, and yin + restorative elements for you to integrate into your teaching and practice if you choose to. We'll explore both the physicality of the practice through studying anatomy, as well as more energetic explorations like holding the space + reading the room.

hybrid learning

Our trainings are a hybrid online + in-person split. Our online material is hosted inside of an online platform which you can access from desktop or an App on your phone, and will connect you to our community of other trainees and facilitators. The online content is a mixture of lecture material, reading and videos which we expect you'll want to re-visit over time. It is completely self-paced. Our in-person modules are packed full with practice time, Q+As, hands-on material and labs and more.

our teachers

Nicole Wild is our main facilitator, and she has been teaching yoga since 2015. She has extensively studied with various teachers across schools of yoga including Embodied Flow, Awakening Yoga Academy and more. She has studied anatomy in cadaver labs, meditation with Buddhist teachers, breathwork, somatic movement therapy, Thai massage + more. Alongside Nicole, some of our trainings include bits of material from guest teachers who offer expertise in their specific industries.

If you haven't yet practiced with Nicole, take a few of her classes on YouTube or inside The Kula to get a feel for her teaching style!

course overview

The Body Module is a 50-hour, self-paced anatomy course designed for yoga teachers who want to move beyond memorization and understand the living body in motion. We combine regional anatomy (naming and identifying structures) with integral anatomy (seeing the body as one continuous, interconnected system).
You’ll move through 17 chapters exploring the body’s layers and systems — from the nervous and muscular to the skeletal and respiratory, and learn how these systems function together. Through the lens of yoga and movement, you’ll discover why postures look different from person to person and how to guide students intelligently and intentionally. The course includes rare, real-life visuals from a week-long cadaver lab dissection, bringing anatomy off the page and into three dimensions. This course experience will transform how you see the human body.

How does the course work? Is it LIVE?

This course is fully online and self-paced, meaning that you can register at any time and move through it at your own pace. You’ll have access to the course for 1 year from when you register. The course is laid out in a way that guides you through the material intentionally.

Can I cancel/get a refund?

Please note that enrollment in this course is non-refundable. As soon as you register, you receive full access to all course materials — which means we’re unable to offer refunds or cancellations.

Are there scholarship opportunities?

Absolutely! Email us at hello@nicolewildcollective.com to chat about it.

What is the in-person option for The Body module?

We take a group of students into the cadaver lab in Colorado Springs about once per year. That in-person week, and this online training, are both considered options for fulfilling The Body Module as part of our 300-hour curriculum. You have to take at least one of the two to complete your 300-hr. With us, though you can choose to attend both to be contributed to your 300-hour curriculum hours if you wish.

If you choose to attend both modules, we’ll give a bit of a discount on your second module! So if you go into the lab with us first, reach out and we’ll send you a discount code for this online course. If you take the online course and then feel called to come into the lab, reach out and we’ll give you a discount code to register for the lab.

Yoga is a collection of practices within a practice. Movement, Meditation, Breathwork + more are all methods of yoga to walk us toward more ease in our lives. 70-hour Training Module: The Methods

How do you create a yoga sequence? How do you stream sequences together to create a yoga class? How might you sequence a bit more creatively? What does it mean to be creative? What is the difference between teaching a 60-minute studio class or a 2-hour workshop? These questions, amongst many others, are the work of our Methods module.

40-hour Training Module: The Body

I’ll never forget standing in a cadaver lab in a week-long dissection studying the human body, and hearing Gil Hedley say “People want to go to space, but they don’t even know what’s happening under their own skin.” Your body is how you experience the world. It is how you experience relationship with everything around you. It is how you have the capacity to see the sunrise or hear music or feel someone’s touch.

40-hour Training Module: The Study

Svadhyaya is the study of the self + the study of the texts, and that is the work of this module. We’ll take a long, hard look at ourselves. We’ll have long, deep conversations with each other. We’ll read ancient texts as well as modern ones. We’ll self-reflect, a lot. And we’ll have practices that help to guide us toward these places. This module is one of cultivating a deeper conversation with your gut, your inner-wisdom and knowing.
